Doug Bernier’s Late Career Swing Change | Pelotero Pickle Highlight

February 15, 20231 min read

How do you approach changes to your swing over the course of your career?

Doug Bernier, a former MLB player, answers this question on last week’s Pelotero Pickle episode.

"I think the biggest thing first was just mindset, just thinking... I can still be aggressive and think, I'm going to try to punish a baseball."

The most overlooked aspect of changing your swing is your approach and mindset at the plate. How you’re moving is a result of what you’re thinking about. Allowing yourself the freedom to try new things and still feel like you can compete is the key to getting the mostout of yourself on any given day.

In my mind, Pelotero is the greatest tool created for strength coaches. It takes the most tedious part of our job and does it in seconds. It frees up our time to be better coaches and leaders.

Pelotero allows me to do all my in-house assessments and programming. I can send people home with plans for how to get better. It has cut down a ton of programming hours and we don't have to get into excel anymore.
